Adidas, named after founder Adolph “Adi” Dassler. Which makes the Euro pronunciation the correct one. True story.

I watched a German dude, which happens to work for Porsche say “Porsch” when pronouncing it, and not “Porsch-ah”, while being interviewed for something regarding the company.
I am not convinced. “Porsch-ah” just sounds wrong and pretentious to me.

Ding ding we have a winner. I hate that I have to pronounce it wrong in order to be understood.
Fun fact- Adi’s brother, Rudolph Dassler, is the founder of Puma.

Yes. I actually learned that on Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me on NPR. I seem to recall that the brothers had a major falling out, which led to their splitting into two companies.

This guys says it as “Porsche” with an “eh” sound at the end. Not “Ah”
Weirly, this guys says “Porsch-ah” and he is very German too
If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

I think I saw the same one. The first time he said it, it did sound like “porsh” but the second time he definitely said “porsh-a.” Also, every German I’ve ever heard say it, pronounce it “porsh-a” and that is also how the family pronounces their name.
